That the first stop on our European trip was Arboga was perhaps a bit unexpected, but we have friends there that we wanted to visit. It was a nice evening with a really good dinner. We got flambéed beef fillet, which was not only very good but also contributed with a little excitement in life.

Then we were off! We got up at six o'clock this morning to unpack the last things and clean the boat. We worked intensively all morning and while we were carrying out the last box, the new tenants called ... then they were in the marina with a car and trailer and four friends to help carry!

There is always something happening in the marina! A few days ago we could watch a lifeboat exercise from our window, you know with those lifeboats on big boats. They threw the lifeboat upside down and turned it in the water. It's good to see that these things are practised!

Where will we spend Christmas this year? In just a few days, we will be setting off on our year-long journey across Europe by motorhome. Many people are asking where we'll be spending Christmas. Yesterday we had a white wine tasting and dinner with Peter's sons Robin and Billie, and Robin's wife Alexandra, here in the houseboat. We tried six different white wines, some that I received at my dissertation and some that we bought ourselves. The dinner had a seafood theme, of course, to suit.

Yesterday we received both an international driving licence and an international camping card in our letterbox. We have ordered both from Caravan Club. The delivery time is about 2 weeks, but if you are in a hurry, just call and they will fix the process faster. The staff at the office have been incredibly helpful and accommodating, I must say! You can probably say that we are really hungry for France now! Today we had Moule marinière, mussels in white wine, for lunch in the houseboat. Mussels are a luxury that is actually relatively cheap. A net cost 60 SEK, and together with bread and cheese it makes a good lunch for two.
