The first practically usable contact lenses were developed by Adolf Gaston Eugen Fick<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The German-Swiss ophthalmologist Adolf Gaston Eugen Fick developed and tested early glass contact lenses in 1888.
