Soon children also began sending letters to the newspaper&#039;s Santa with questions and requests for Christmas presents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the newspaper eventually ceased publication, the letters continued to arrive. Santa&#039;s mail had simply become a tradition in its own right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many of the old letters have been preserved and today constitute an exciting cultural history.
