This year, 2021, despite the pandemic, we have managed to go on several exciting trips abroad, in Europe, Asia and Africa. We were at home in the houseboat and took walks in beautiful winter weather. At the beginning of April, we went on a trip with a castle theme, and even though most things were closed, we were excited. There were, among other things, visits to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/04\/taxinge-slott\/\">Taxinge Castle<\/a> in Nykvarn, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/04\/gripsholms-slott\/\">Gripsholm Castle<\/a> in Mariefred, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/04\/stora-sundby-slott\/\">Stora Sundby Castle<\/a> on Lake Hj\u00e4lmaren and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/04\/boo-slott\/\">Boo Castle<\/a> in N\u00e4rke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After a short break at home, we set off on a new motorhome trip, on the northern side of Lake M\u00e4laren. We spent some time in the J\u00f6nk\u00f6ping area, where we, among other things, visited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/05\/gora-i-granna\/\">Gr\u00e4nna<\/a> and made an excursion to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/05\/gora-pa-visingso\/\">Visings\u00f6<\/a>. After a stopover at home in Stockholm, we then drove to Uppland where we visited several interesting poppy farms, such as the... <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/05\/forsmarks-bruk-i-roslagen\/\">Forsmark's mill<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/05\/lovstabruk\/\">L\u00f6vstabruk<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then we quickly turned down towards Sk\u00e5ne to test the new fast ferry. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/05\/frs-baltic\/\">FRS Baltic<\/a>which runs from Ystad to Sassnitz in less than 2.5 hours. We visited places like the ancient monument <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/06\/ales-stenar\/\">Ales stones<\/a>, the national park <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/06\/dalby-soderskog-nationalpark\/\">Dalby S\u00f6derskog<\/a> and Helena's childhood town <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/06\/gora-i-lund\/\">Lund<\/a>. Then it was off to Blekinge, where we got to see the rhododendron in bloom in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/06\/marinmuseum-i-karlskrona\/\">Ronneby Brunnspark<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was also in June that we took the bridge over to \u00d6land. It was fun to be on a mini-adventure again, and we had a very nice tour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Later that month, it was time for the first big trip abroad in a very long time. We travelled to Bulgaria on a press trip, where, among other things, we strolled around in cosy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/07\/nesebar-i-bulgarien\/\">Nesebar<\/a> and experienced a modern and delicious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/07\/sunny-beach\/\">Sunny Beach<\/a>. We started on the west coast of Sk\u00e5ne, and then rolled slowly northwards. Among other things, we visited beautiful <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/09\/gora-i-varberg\/\">Varberg<\/a> and fantastic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/09\/tjoloholms-slott\/\">Tjol\u00f6holm Castle<\/a>. Then we had to \"deviate from the course\" to get to the Elmia exhibition. On the way we visited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/09\/gora-i-boras\/\">Bor\u00e5s<\/a>, which surprised us as an exciting city of art. During this month, we travelled to both the Czech Republic and Turkey. In the Czech Republic, we visited the Crystal Valley in the northern part of the country, where we saw, among other things <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/10\/handgjorda-juldekorationer-i-tjeckien-ett-unescoarv\/\">handmade Christmas decorations<\/a>, the natural phenomenon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/10\/panska-skala\/\">P\u00e1nska Sk\u00e1la<\/a> and the city <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/10\/liberec-i-tjeckien\/\">Liberec<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our journey in Turkey started in Istanbul, where we checked out the shrine of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/10\/hagia-sofia-i-istanbul\/\">Hagia Sofia<\/a> before continuing to Cappadocia. We started in the capital Tunis, where we made an excursion to the charming blue-and-white city. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/11\/sidi-bou-said-i-tunisien\/\">Sidi Bou Said<\/a>. The journey then continued with an exciting tour around much of the country. Some of the most marvellous memories include the exotic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2025\/11\/gora-i-tozeur-i-tunisien\/\">Tozeur<\/a>that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/11\/bo-i-talt-i-tunisien\/\">living in tents in the desert<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/11\/thalassoterapi-i-tunisien\/\">thalassotherapy in Djerba<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we returned to Sweden, it was time for the motorhome to make one last trip for the year. Now we went to Glasriket in Sm\u00e5land! We had a visit from Norway by a girl we met in Bulgaria, met friends and went out to restaurants.
