class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An open-air museum is a type of museum that displays a large part of its collections outdoors, for example in the form of different buildings. There are a lot of open-air museums in Sweden, but compiling the list was a bit more complicated than we first thought. Can a farm be an open-air museum, for example? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This list doesn't claim to be complete, but you'll find a large proportion of all Swedish open-air museums here, organised from north to south. From Uppland and south we've visited a bunch, but up north we've left most of them behind. There are historic buildings here, and next door is the Forest Museum and the Gammplatsen nature reserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-gallivare-hembygdsomrade\">G\u00e4llivare local history area<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">G\u00e4llivare hembygdsomr\u00e5de is owned by the Gellivare parish local history association and is located on the Vassara River.
