From the outside, the building has the character of a fortified castle, while the interior tells more about life at the castle during the Renaissance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The castle was probably founded as early as the 13th century, when it had a prime location along the important medieval trade route between Frankfurt and Leipzig. We never took the time to visit the inside, but there is an exhibition about the Brothers Grimm.
