pulpit<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We had seen pictures of the protruding cliff on Getsvedjeberget and wondered where it was. The answer turned out to be almost outside the door. The hike began at Skuleberget Havscamping, where we were already parked with the camper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The trail is short, but it goes uphill almost from the beginning and the surface consists of rocks and roots in parts. It took us about 40 minutes to get up at a leisurely pace with several breaks. But don&#039;t let the distance fool you. The official High Coast guide classifies the trail as difficult, and after walking it we understand why. It goes quite uphill in places.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Har_borjar_vandringen_till_Getsvedjeberget\"><\/span>The hike to Getsvedjeberget begins here.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hike starts at Skuleberget Havscamping in Ve\u00e5sand, just north of Docksta. There is parking here and the trail is marked from the camping area towards Getsvedjeberget and Predikstolen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For us, the starting point could hardly have been better. We were already staying at the campsite with our camper van and just needed to put on our hiking boots, pack some water and start walking. When we got here, a sign pointed up towards the forest and the mountain with the text&nbsp;<strong>#getsvedjeberget<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>#Pulpit<\/strong>. We just had to follow it. It is a real nature trail where you have to step over roots and rocks and sometimes think about where you put your feet. We had read that the hike up would take about half an hour. Since such time estimates sometimes seem to be written for people who walk much faster than we do, we packed both water and biscuits as usual. The water came in handy. The biscuits, however, survived the hike because we had just eaten lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">30 minutes? Not really for us<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have never had any need to break speed records when we hike. If we get out of breath, we stop. If the view is nice, we stop again. If a strange rock or a twisted tree appears, we naturally take a photo of it too. And there were plenty of reasons to stop here. For us, the hike took about&nbsp;<strong>40 minutes<\/strong>, at a leisurely pace and with several breaks. At the same time, it is a manageable hike for those who are used to moving in hilly nature, have good shoes and take it at their own pace. And if you need to catch your breath, there is an excellent excuse. Turn around. Here the whole experience changes. The forest opens up and in front of us were the mountains, water and archipelago of the High Coast. From the area around the peak, you can see, among other things, Norrfj\u00e4rden, Ulv\u00f6arna, Mj\u00e4lt\u00f6n, Skuleberget and far away H\u00f6gbonden&#039;s lighthouse. And somewhere here, the famous Pulpit would be. It wasn&#039;t. We walked in the direction of the sign and then had to search for a while before we realized where the protruding rock actually was. The trick is to continue towards the edge, be careful, and look for the rock formation from the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then we saw it. <strong>There it was!<\/strong> We actually think this is good to know before the visit. And yes, it definitely qualifies for the title. Predikstolen is a cliff that juts out from the south side of Getsvedjeberget, with the Norrfj\u00e4rden and High Coast landscapes far below. At the time, we hadn&#039;t been there yet. Three years later, we got the chance to compare for real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the summer of 2026 we hiked up to Preikestolen in Norway. The Norwegian cliff is of course both larger and much more dramatic \u2013&nbsp;<strong>But that day we had to use our imagination when it came to the view of the Lysefjord. The fog lay thick over the mountain.<\/strong>&nbsp;Getsvedjebergets Predikstol, on the other hand, offered the entire High Coast landscape before us. Do not go further out than you feel safe with and be extra careful if the rock is wet. Skuleberget Havscamping also warns especially about slippery rocks in wet weather. The descent was much faster. For us, the hike took just over 20 minutes, but even if your fitness level improves on the descent, you still need to watch your feet. Roots and rocks that were only a problem on the way up can become slippery or easy to trip over when you go down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we got back to the campsite we were very satisfied. For us, the campsite was a really good starting point for several nature experiences in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hiking trail to Getsvedjeberget starts directly at the campsite. For those who do not live here, there is a special guest parking\/Getsvedjeberg parking, and the campsite states in October 2026 that parking costs 40 kronor. According to the campsite, the fee goes towards the maintenance and development of Getsvedjeberget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And this is exactly where our little High Coast adventure begins to come together. Stage 6 of the High Coast Trail passes the mountain on the route between Skuleberget and Entr\u00e9 Syd in Skuleskogen National Park. The current stage is approximately 10.9 kilometers and continues from Getsvedjeberget towards the national park. For us, Predikstolen was the destination this day.
