Here you can buy oysters directly from the producers at the port and eat them with a view of the sea. Instead, we took oysters and mussels home to the camper. class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cancale is located on the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay in northern Brittany, not far from the border with Normandy. Here, restaurants and shops line the water, and it&#039;s hard to miss what is the region&#039;s great specialty: Oysters. The rows of cultivation tables form an almost grid pattern across the seabed, spreading over hundreds of hectares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both cupped and flat oysters are grown here. Cancale is particularly famous for its flat oysters, which have a long history in the area. Here you will find the oyster market, restaurants and views of the bay and oyster farms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pointe du Grouin:<\/strong> North of Cancale lies the dramatic Pointe du Grouin headland with views of the coast and the sea.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hike along the GR34:<\/strong> The well-known coastal path GR34 passes through Cancale. A nice stretch runs between Port de la Houle and Pointe du Grouin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>See the oyster farms at low tide:<\/strong> If the tide is right, the large cultivation areas are clearly visible from the coast. It is also possible to join guided tours to learn more about oyster farming.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Utflykter_fran_Cancale\"><\/span>Excursions from Cancale<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cancale is well located for those who want to discover more of both Brittany and Normandy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2014\/12\/mont-st-michel\/\">Mont-Saint-Michel<\/a><\/strong> is located on the other side of the bay and is of course one of the major tourist attractions in the area. Here you can discover the medieval village and the mighty monastery that rises above the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you continue along the coast of Brittany there are many more towns and villages to discover. We remember the oyster beds, all the shellfish down by the harbor, and above all that dinner in the camper with fresh mussels and oysters, baguette, cheese, and white wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then of course we remember the Morakniven. Today we would have probably done at least one thing differently. We would have bought an oyster knife.
