Parts of this town are situated on a hill and the small charming streets seem to go up the hills. The colorful skirts were worn one on top of the other, and there are various explanations as to why there would be exactly seven. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A common interpretation is that the number symbolizes the seven days of the week, the seven waves of the sea or the seven colors of the rainbow. The place got its big international breakthrough in 2011 when Garrett McNamara surfed a 23.77 meter wave at Praia do Norte - a new world record at the time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since then, several even bigger waves have been surfed here. The current official men&#039;s record is 26.21 meters and was set by Sebastian Steudtner in 2020. This is a large and well-maintained campsite with forest all around, and the only thing that is really annoying is the high fences that surround the campsite.
