We have been in the neighbourhood - in Milan and in Liguria - but we have never found our way to Piedmont. What attracts us is that it seems to be somewhat less touristy than some other areas in Italy, and that nature seems to be completely <em>fantastic<\/em>. Piedmont is one of Italy's great wine regions, perhaps best known for the Barolo and Barbaresco areas, which produce famous red wines from nebbiolo.
