What I remember best are the summer trips from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2021\/06\/gora-i-lund\/\">Lund<\/a>, where I lived with my family, to the summer place in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2023\/02\/gora-i-tylosand\/\">Tyl\u00f6sand<\/a>. The first trip abroad I remember was a ski trip to the German Harz in 1985. The year was 1991 and we travelled by bus from Sk\u00e5ne. It was probably within Sweden, maybe to the mountains. However, I do remember the first time I travelled by metro! Unpleasant things were happening around us and we were stuck in a small guesthouse in Mombasa. Together with two other couples, we waited for an opportunity to leave the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New Year's Eve was celebrated at the small guesthouse and we went around the team so that everyone had to finish the sentence \"If I survive ...\" to express what you would do in your life if you got the chance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How did it go? A few days later, a taxi driver dared (finally, for a month's salary in payment!) to pick us up and drive us (at high speed, between burning car wrecks) to the border with Tanzania. We crossed the border on foot, without internet or guidebook, and found a local bus to take us further<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
