Here, canals, fishing boats, beaches and outdoor cafes meet on a narrow strip of land between the sea and lagoons. There is also one of the shortest cable cars we have ever seen. The resort is located on the Mediterranean Sea, south of Montpellier, surrounded by sea, canals and lagoons. We strolled along the quays, looked at boats and enjoyed the southern French holiday feeling. We walked back and forth along the quays, looking at the boats and soaking up the atmosphere. Palavas-les-Flots is not a town where you have to hunt for sights. The Transcanal runs across the Lez and is only 83 meters long. During the summer, this is of course one of the main reasons why people flock here. Despite its name, the tower was not built as a lighthouse. The green park is located next to the center of Palavas and is perfect for a quiet walk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is also the Mus\u00e9e Albert Dubout, dedicated to the French illustrator and caricaturist Albert Dubout. The area also has a museum with model cars and model trains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"7_Upptack_lagunerna_runt_Palavas-les-Flots\"><\/span>7. Discover the lagoons around Palavas-les-Flots<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the things that makes Palavas-les-Flots special is its location between the Mediterranean Sea and the shallow lagoons along the coast. Here, there is a landscape of water, wetlands and a rich birdlife. The old fishing village developed over time into a popular seaside resort, not least thanks to its proximity to Montpellier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, both sides are noticeable. There are beaches, ice cream parlors and holiday life, but also fishing boats, ports and the canal that runs right through the town. It is precisely this mix that we think makes Palavas-les-Flots pleasant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Palavas-les-Flots_med_husbil\"><\/span>Palavas-les-Flots with a motorhome<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We visited Palavas-les-Flots by motorhome and stayed overnight at the large Base Paul Riquet motorhome site, on the waterfront and within easy walking distance of the town centre. We remember it as a really great place, with motorhomes and boats side by side. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The RV park is still there and is open all year round. There are serviced sites here and it is close to both the city center and the beach. We remember Palavas-les-Flots as a charming and easygoing place where we could stroll along the quays, watch the boats, eat well and just enjoy the summer weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And so we came away with two new bath towels with campers on them.
