Dried meat has a long shelf life and tastes good \u2013 a reminder of the Sami food heritage and life close to the mountains and open spaces. Today, aged V\u00e4sterbottensost cheese has also made its way onto the Christmas table, perhaps throughout the country, but still most firmly rooted in its home region.
