Together with my sister-in-law Nilla, I stepped into the Abisko and four different Affinity models. Abisko is the more exclusive and adventure-oriented model, built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and with, among other things, water-borne heating. A metal trailer is smaller than many traditional motorhomes, while still providing things like a kitchen, bathroom, seating area and proper sleeping accommodations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That particular combination appealed to Nilla. She hadn&#039;t really thought much about metal cars before, but she soon began to see the possibilities. It already looks ready for adventure from the outside, not least with its high ground clearance and robust appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, this is not a stripped-down expedition vehicle. On the contrary, the Abisko feels cozy, designed and quite luxurious inside. Neither we nor Nilla would choose this particular solution. Of course, it&#039;s all about personal preference, and for those who love long beds, it might be just right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Otherwise, we like the car. It feels nice and relatively spacious, and we like the kitchen solution. One of the things we appreciate about many flat-bed vans is that you can stand and cook while still having contact with the outside world through the large sliding door. At the back there is a French bed\/L-shaped double bed instead of long beds. The layout leaves a lot of open space and makes it not feel particularly cramped even though we are still in a sheet of ice. The Affinity 599 is only 5.99 meters long and has a cross-shaped double bed at the rear. We would love to have the cross bed, but we would choose a motorhome longer than 5.99 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For someone who prioritizes a truly compact vehicle, it is of course just the opposite. Under six meters you get a car that is easy to drive and park, while also having a kitchen, toilet, seating area and fixed double bed. The layout is based on a French bed at the back, and Nilla also discovers a detail that she likes: the head of the bed can be raised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Suddenly the bed is not just a place to sleep. You can fold up the headboard, lean back and use it as a comfortable place to read or relax. On the new models we are looking at, a roof bed is available as an option, and on the 599, 636 and One 636 it measures 200 x 120 centimeters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, it&#039;s practical for a family that needs more beds without wanting to move up to a larger camper. However, they are still part of the 2027 model range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here too, it is primarily the layouts that differentiate the models. Duo has a double bed while Three has long beds. The big point of the entire Affinity family is therefore precisely the choice: the same basic concept can suit quite different types of travelers depending on how they want to sleep and use the space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Vilken_KABE-platis_skulle_vi_valja\"><\/span>Which KABE plate ice cream should we choose?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After our little plate scouting, we don&#039;t completely agree on a winner, and perhaps we don&#039;t need to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nilla is most fond of Abisko. The robust sense of adventure makes her start thinking about fishing, outdoor activities and all sorts of excursions that the car could be used for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the Affinity models, we especially like <strong>One 636<\/strong>, which surprises with its spacious feel and cozy bed solution. At the same time, it has <strong>599<\/strong> the cross bed that we actually prefer, but in a shorter format than we would choose for ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And perhaps it&#039;s the floor plans that are interesting about Affinity. Someone definitely wants long beds. Someone else wants a cross bed. A third prioritizes a double bed and as much space as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the funniest discovery during our little tour is perhaps Nilla&#039;s. She enters the KABE booth without any specific plans for a plate of ice cream and comes out with significantly more ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because a camper doesn&#039;t just have to be an alternative to a larger motorhome. It can be the car for a fishing weekend, an outdoor adventure or a spontaneous trip. Or simply a way to visit friends and always have your own little home with you.
