Where do you start, and which parts should you eat? Here we show you step by step how to do it. In female crabs, there may also be orange or red roe. Under the large shell there is also a soft, yellow-brown or green-brown mass that is usually called <strong>crab butter<\/strong>. We have previously eaten and enjoyed the crab butter, and Peter has grown up eating that part too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we updated this guide, however, we noted the Swedish National Food Administration&#039;s advice not to eat crab butter, as it may contain high levels of cadmium. The advice applies to everyone. Split the crab<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Place the crab on its back on a sturdy cutting board. Fold up and break off the flat tail flap on the underside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then split the crab lengthwise with a sturdy knife. The shell is hard, so work carefully and keep your fingers out of the way.
