Here is the neo-Gothic Mierz\u0119cin Palace, surrounded by parkland, forests and lakes. Today, the historic palace functions as a hotel and resort, with its own winery, spa and horse riding activities. historic palace<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mierz\u0119cin Palace, or Pa\u0142ac Mierz\u0119cin in Polish, is located in the countryside of Lubusz Voivodeship in western Poland, approximately halfway between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2020\/09\/poznan-i-polen\/\">Poznan<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freedomtravel.se\/en\/2019\/08\/se-och-gora-i-szczecin-i-polen\/\">Szczecin<\/a>. The neo-Gothic palace was built between 1861 and 1863 on the initiative of Robert Friedrich von Waldow, whose family owned the estate. The characteristic building is built in the English neo-Gothic style and is dominated by an octagonal tower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After World War II, the building was used for a variety of purposes, including as an orphanage and later as a state farm. In the 1990s, the palace was abandoned for several years before being purchased by new owners in 1998 and undergoing extensive restoration. The third season of SVT&#039;s popular dating program <em>Hotel Romance<\/em> was recorded at Pa\u0142ac Mierz\u0119cin Wellness &amp; Wine Resort and was shown in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the program, Swedish singles over the age of 65 checked into the romantic palace hotel to socialize, date and hopefully find love. The grand building, vineyards and green park thus played a prominent role in the program. The entire complex functions as a Wellness &amp; Wine Resort with hotel rooms in both the palace and the old farm buildings. Today, it covers 8.75 hectares and is one of the largest in Poland. The first vines were planted in 2004 and today a large number of grape varieties are grown, including Riesling, Solaris, Rondo and Regent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The area also has a wine production facility and a wine cellar where the wines are stored and where tastings are arranged. The palace is surrounded by a large landscape park and the entire area is green and peaceful, with forests, meadows and lakes all around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we walked through the park, we found small bridges, winding paths, and a red gazebo that almost gave the environment the feel of a Japanese garden.
