We lived here together in 2018, when my mother was awarded an honorary doctorate. There are also several restaurants and bars as well as facilities for conferences, banquets and other events. The hotel is part of the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre Gothia Towers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The location is particularly convenient if you are visiting a trade fair, going to an event at Scandinavium or spending a day at Liseberg. The room was absolutely excellent, with comfortable beds, a large TV, WiFi and a fresh bathroom with a nice shower. If we had to complain about anything, it was that we found the room a bit chilly. Otherwise, it worked well for our stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hotel has several room categories, so our room is an example of how we stayed at that particular time. They usually go up to the Heaven 23 restaurant and order a shrimp sandwich each. It&#039;s become something they like to come back to when they stay here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Rakmacka_med_utsikt_pa_Heaven_23\"><\/span>Shrimp sandwich with a view at Heaven 23<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Heaven 23 is Gothia Towers&#039; restaurant and sky bar on the 23rd floor. Here you have a view of Gothenburg and can eat or have a drink high above the city streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The restaurant&#039;s classic shrimp sandwich is called <em>King Size<\/em>. If you would like to eat here during your stay in Gothenburg, it might be a good idea to book a table in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Upper_House_Spa_och_den_utanpahangande_poolen\"><\/span>Upper House Spa and the outdoor pool<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the details that piqued our curiosity in 2018 was the pool hanging from the outside of the building. It looks undeniably special! The pool belongs to the Upper House Spa. Upper House is Gothia Towers&#039; more exclusive sister hotel in the same complex, and it is important to distinguish between the two hotels when booking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A spa visit is not automatically included when you stay at Gothia Towers.<\/strong> As a hotel guest, you can instead book a visit at a more favorable price, subject to availability. The spa needs to be booked in advance. When staying at Upper House, however, spa entrance is included according to the hotel&#039;s information. Always check what is included in your particular booking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We had planned to look around more during our stay, but my migraine put a stop to that. So we didn&#039;t try the spa or the pool ourselves. The room was comfortable, and it was nice to have proximity between the hotel room and the doctoral graduation ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peter&#039;s later stays also show how the hotel can serve as a base during work trips to Gothenburg. Being able to finish with a shrimp sandwich at Heaven 23 has of course been an appreciated feature!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a large hotel with many rooms and activities under one roof.
