The national park is open all year round as long as the roads are passable. There are paid parking lots at the most popular visitor sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Haki\u00f0, near the viewpoint and Almannagj\u00e1, there is a visitor center with information and the interactive exhibition. <em>Heart of Iceland<\/em>, which tells about both the nature and history of \u00deingvellir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please wear good walking shoes and clothing for the weather. In winter, the trails can be snowy and slippery, and the national park recommends good shoes and crampons in winter conditions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ett_besok_pa_hastgarden_Laxness\"><\/span>A visit to the Laxness horse farm<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the way back to Reykjavik we visited<em> Laxness horse farm,<\/em> located in Mosfellsb\u00e6, 26 kilometers from \u00deingvellir National Park and 22 kilometers from Reykjavik. There are a large number of Icelandic horses here, and although there are no signs, the owners know the names of each of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just remember not to call them ponies! Even though Icelandic horses are relatively short at the withers, they are strong and are considered horses.
