Brewery in Bruges - Belgian beer at De Halve Maan

We are now in Flanders in Belgium, where we took the opportunity to visit a brewery in Bruges. We have taken a guided tour of the brewery De Halve Maan. This brewery is located in the middle of charming Bruges, but leads all beer out of the city through a several kilometres long (!) pipeline. We also did a lot of other things, from a boat ride in the canals to a diamond museum.

I am currently at a conference in Ghent, Belgium. Ghent is a small city with about 250,000 inhabitants. I would probably never have thought of coming here, if it wasn't for the fact that we came here for a conference with my work. Now that I'm here, I have to say that this is a very nice city, which I would definitely consider visiting privately as well.

Today, completely unplanned, we experienced a carnival in Hasselt here in Belgium. The day after Sensation White, we woke up (in the afternoon) and decided to go for a quiet walk to buy some water. Instead, we were greeted by... a raging party!

Hasselt in Belgium - hotels and shopping

Here is a greeting from Hasselt, Belgium. The journey here was quite long. We took a flight to Eindhoven, continued by train to Maastricht and then travelled the last stretch by bus to Hasselt. Fortunately, all the people along the way were incredibly friendly and helpful. And then we got to rest at the hotel De Groene Hendrickx.
