Southeast Asia - a region with history and great holiday destinations

The countries of Southeast Asia are in many cases at the centre of maritime transport and have a long history of extensive trade with both China and India. Historically, many of these countries have been involved in wars and unrest, such as the Vietnam War in the 1960s and 1970s.

Today, many of the countries in the region have a strong focus on tourism. There are plenty of islands and paradisiacal beaches, and the countries attract visitors with sun and swimming, snorkelling, diving and boat trips. In addition, you can often see exotic animals and enjoy Asian food.
