Our name is Helena and Peter Bergström. We live in a houseboat in Stockholm and travel as often as we can - by plane, train, boat or our motorhome FREEDOM. Our trips

We have travelled in over 60 countries on five continents, by plane, train, boat or camper van. We love discovering new places, trying new foods and meeting new people.

We mostly travel in Europe, but we've also travelled on the Trans-Siberian Railway through Siberia, backpacked through Kenya and Tanzania, caravanned through New Zealand and boated in the Philippines. In 2015, we discovered Europe by taking a full year's leave of absence, and travelling by campervan around the coast of Europefrom Normandy in the west to the Balkans in the east. Since then, we have continued to discover Sweden, Europe and the world for several months each year.

Our motorhome

Our motorhome is an Adria Coral 660 sp from 2007, but we have done an "extreme motorhome makeover" so it is not easy to see ... Peter has designed and had the motorhome foiled on the outside. The motorhome is now equipped with door alarms, motion alarms, a safe, dual batteries, a solar panel and a generator. And "some" extra lights and sound system and stuff of course ...

Our houseboat

Our houseboat is probably from the early 1900s. It was originally a passenger sloop and has since been used as a houseboat on Djurgården, before it came to Sweden. Pampas marina in Solna. Today, it is a houseboat without an engine, permanently moored at its berth, connected to water and sewage.

In the summer of 2014, we lifted the boat on land and did an extensive renovation. We demolished the entire living room and built a new one, changed all the panelling and windows and put a new roof.

Our travel magazine

We write about travel, adventure and camping, but also about life in a houseboat and lifestyle in general. Today, our digital magazine has around 120,000 unique readers per month, and we also have Facebook, Instagram and YouTube and a online shop. Published every day since 2009, our aim is to present a travel magazine that is both informative and personal.

What do we do on a daily basis?

Running a digital travel magazine is a full-time job, and we both currently work on it, although we also combine it with other jobs and assignments.

Helena is public health scientists and Med. Doctor, which means that she has a PhD in public health science at Karolinska Institutet. She has worked for many years with public health issues, partly at Karolinska Institutet and partly in Region Stockholm. Today, however, she works mostly on freelance assignments, including as a writer. Peter has previously worked as a carpenter, with his own construction company, but is now involved in the travel magazine full time.

We have no children together, but Peter has two adult sons, Robin and Billie, who have both left home and are working.
