The Giant's Causeway stone formations in Northern Ireland are impressive with their hexagonal basalt columns, which are crowded by the thousands in a limited area by the sea. On our way here we also visited the mysterious avenue of Dark Hedges, which was filmed in a scene in Game of Thrones, and after our visit to the Giant's Causeway we visited Dunluce Castle.

Dramatic rope bridge in Northern Ireland - Carrick-a-Rede

Yesterday we ventured out on a swinging rope bridge in Northern Ireland, with dizzying views. Carrick-a-Rede is a small island on the north coast of Northern Ireland, and is also the name of the rope suspension bridge that leads to the island. Before coming here, we also drove on insanely beautiful roads along the Causeway Coastal Route, with lots of sheep and many Game of Thrones filming locations.

Winterfell - visiting Game of Thrones in Northern Ireland

We have continued northwards along the coast of Northern Ireland, passing one view more beautiful than the other. The houses are quaintly cute, the nature is intensely green and just everywhere we see sheep and hear birds chirping. This green island is a fairytale in itself, but yesterday we decided to visit the fairytale town of Winterfell, which is actually a location in the TV series Game of Thrones. The fact that many scenes were shot here in Northern Ireland is not hard to understand!

North Beach outside Dublin - and Ardgillan Castle

Our first encounter with Ireland included beautiful beaches at North Beach outside Dublin and a cool Irish castle called Ardgillan Castle. We landed in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday evening, and we knew it would be tough to get to a campsite in time for closing time. Not to say the night was without challenges, but on Sunday morning we woke up on a beautiful Irish beach.
