New ideas for the kitchen

The kitchen was the room in the entire houseboat that was most prepared and most modern when we moved here. Many parts of the boat are original from the 1930s, but the kitchen was recently renovated. The previous owner had also chosen nice colours and nice appliances, we think.

New ideas

You can see one of the agent's pictures of the kitchen below. We have always thought that we should keep the kitchen as it is, but liiite we have to do it again. Among other things, we are thinking of tiling the wall above the sink (that metal disc is very scratched), fixing new lighting and putting up a background wallpaper behind the dining table.

Wallpaper

I used to think wallpaper was boring. I think I associated it with the awful orange and brown patterns of the 80s, which were often matched by an even grumpier carpet. But nowadays, there are so many beautiful and delicious wallpaper!

We've been browsing the shops and it's really inspiring. There's everything from simple, clean patterns to all sorts of spectacular designs. We're thinking of something in black and silver, to match all the black details and stainless steel in the kitchen. You'll see soon enough! What do you think about wallpaper? Do you have wallpaper at home, or mostly white walls?
