Italian cuisine on the Costa Pacifica

We are about to embark on a real cruise in the Mediterranean, but Peter "jump-started" a bit this week when he boarded the Costa Pacifica in Stockholm harbour. What did he do there? Munching on Italian delicacies and learning about Europe's largest cruise line. And then he recorded a film of course!

250 destinations

Costa Cruises is part of the cruise line Costa Group, which is headquartered in Italy. As Europe's largest shipping company, it boasts 27 cruise ships and 27 000 employees.

Its ships travel to 250 different destinations in the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Baltic Sea, the Caribbean, Central America, South America, the United Arab Emirates and the Indian Ocean. If you wish, you can also embark on Round the World Cruises!

Italian delicacies

On board the Costa Pacifica, Peter got to try lots of little Italian delicacies. Not bad at all if I can believe him! (At the same time, of course, I was at work. Do not really know what to think about the "division of labour" ....!!!?) Costa Cruises themselves also seem proud to sail under the Italian flag and serve gastronomy from their home country.

Efterrätt Costa

Costa Cruises - More than food

As well as great food, there's a lot more to experience on board Costa's cruise ships. There's everything from spas and jacuzzis to kids' clubs, 4D cinemas, theatres and nightclubs. When you go ashore, there are different activities depending on your destination - perhaps whale watching if you're in Norway or snorkelling if you're in the Caribbean. Check out Peter's film from the ship!

Sustainable cruising

Cruise ships have been widely criticised for polluting our seas. It is therefore positive to hear that these companies are working on improvements. Costa Cruises is working on fuel optimisation and emissions reduction, and also has a waste management plan. When they add six new ships in 20121, a number of them will be fuelled by liquid natural gas, which is apparently a more environmentally friendly fuel.
