Major travel trends in 2020

Tickets presents its major trend analysis "The trends we see for 2020 and beyond are more sustainable, feel more long-term and often go deeper than previous trends," says Katarina Daniels, PR and Communications Manager at Ticket. Here are the trends:

  • Combating over-tourism - Rather visit 'second cities' and choose places with fewer tourists.
  • Focus on relaxation and logging out - Maximise recovery and disconnect from digital channels.
  • Holistic health in focus - nature at the centre - Demand for organic and healthy food as well as exercise or nature experiences.
  • Delayed bookings - The trend is reversing and people are now booking closer to their departure date than before.
  • Sustainability - part of discovering the world - Train travel is increasing, but so is the holistic approach to sustainable travel.
