Our second stop on our road trip from Eilat in Israel was Masada. This ancient fortress sits on an almost 400 metre high mountain in the Negev Desert, not far from the Dead Sea. As well as being an impressive structure, the fortress has a dramatic history that makes your stomach churn.

If you want to see dolphins in Eilat, you should definitely take a trip to Dolphin Reef, located on the coast just outside Eilat. We visited here yesterday, and in addition to seeing a whole bunch of beautiful dolphins, we had a relaxing day in incredibly green and beautiful surroundings.

Yesterday we visited the Underwater Observatory in Eilat, Israel. To begin with, this is a park with several large aquariums and pools with fish and turtles. But the most fascinating thing is the underwater tower, where you can go deep under the surface and experience the underworld of the Red Sea through lots of big windows. Fascinating!

SAS has recently opened a direct route from Stockholm to Eilat in Israel, making it possible to fly to Eilat with no changes in just under five hours. We flew yesterday at 10:00 in the morning and landed at the airport outside Eilat (Ovda) at four in the afternoon local time. Then it took about an hour by bus to get to Eilat.

The year is coming to an end, and we feel it's time for a little year-end recap. We can conclude that in 2017 we have visited twelve different countries and tried a number of different adventures. New for this year are diving, climbing, mountain biking, helicopter rides and sailing school ships. What a year!
