Åsa lives in Portugal with her husband Sverker and their children Frida and Jonna. On her blog Bortugal you can read about their everyday life, with school and surfing, in a small charming Portuguese village by the sea. We have had some contact online, but never met in real life, and it was great when Åsa invited us to celebrate the new year with them!

Yesterday we had a white wine tasting and dinner with Peter's sons Robin and Billie, and Robin's wife Alexandra, here in the houseboat. We tried six different white wines, some that I received at my dissertation and some that we bought ourselves. The dinner had a seafood theme, of course, to suit.

Finally, it was time for the defence and the defence party! Yesterday I presented my research and the content of my thesis in front of an audience. After the presentation, it was time for the opponent, Dr Craig Melville from the University of Glasgow, to lead the questioning and discussion. He asked tricky but good questions. I was very, very happy with the opponent, but after two hours of questioning in English, I was still exhausted...

We made a trip with Viking Line Cinderella between Friday and Saturday. Sometimes it is nice to get away on a small trip, even if you do not go so far away. The entertainment section on Viking Line Cinderella has been rebuilt, and there is both a new nightclub and new restaurants. So what did we think?
Yesterday we celebrated Peter's youngest son Billie's 18th birthday. It was a festive evening in the houseboat with Billie, his older brother Robin, his wife Alexandra and Robin's little sister Felicia. Then we went to the Old Town for a bite to eat at Vapiano and on to Stureplan to dance a bit ... Now we have woken up to even more snow, and continued snowing.

Last night there was a break in everyday life with November Lights at Tele2 Arena. A long afternoon, evening and night with a number of great DJs, such as Sander van Dorn, Nause and Tiesto. "Sweden's new indoor festival for electronic dance music", the organisers call it. Around 15 000 people danced the night away ...

Last spring, Peter's son Robin and his wife Alexandra went on a 10-day holiday to Las Vegas. They had a great experience and told us about all the great things over there: huge hotels with lots of shops and restaurants, gigantic swimming pools and huge breakfast buffets with rich cake tables.

Yesterday Peter's youngest son Billie turned 17, so we had dinner and cake at our house. Time passes, as you know, and we take the opportunity to remember fun things we have done together. Not least travelling!
