What to do in Östersund as a tourist? We visited Östersund a few weeks ago, while watching the Alpine World Cup in Åre. We had some fantastic winter days, including a spontaneous guided city walk with another travel blogger and a visit to the Winter Park.

We have spent a few hours at a nice spa hotel in Åre, namely at the luxurious Copperhill Mountain Lodge close to nature. The hotel is located on a mountain and offers both a relaxing spa and a Nordic menu with local ingredients. What we liked best was lying in the warm water and looking out over the snowy landscape and the skiers outside the large windows.

Right now the Alpine World Cup in Åre 2019 is underway, and we have been following the world championship for a few days. What an experience! We've seen enormously talented skiers, partied in the Austrian house "Tirolberg" and happened to be travelling with the King and Queen. Among other things.

Now we are in place in Piteå and prepared for the Stora Nolia fair that starts tomorrow. It has taken two days to drive up and we have had nice company of motorhome friends all the way. There was an overnight stay in Örnsköldsvik and a small trip past Bea's smokehouse in Jävre before we rolled into the caravan park in Piteå.
