Air travel continues to decline

The number of passengers at Swedish airports fell by 3.4 per cent in the second quarter of the year, i.e. April, May and June, according to a press release from the Swedish Transport Agency. The decrease is mainly due to fewer domestic flights. Last year, the number of domestic passengers for the period was just over 2 million, compared with 1.8 million this year. The decrease in international passengers decreased by 1.6 per cent, from 8 569 000 to 8 434 000.

Free visa to Sri Lanka

You have previously had to apply for and pay for a visa to the Sri Lanka. From 1 August onwards, visas are free and there is no need to apply in advance. The reason is that the country wants to bring back tourism after the bombings at Easter. At the time, the Swedish Foreign Ministry advised against travelling to the country, but this has been lifted. The free visa offer is initially valid for 6 months. After that, the operation will be evaluated.
