Spring feelings, hectic work and new glasses

The winter was white, cold and beautiful, but in Stockholm it is now inevitably gone. Might as well get some spring feelings, right? We don't really know what spring will be like, but at least the ice is melting and it's getting warmer.

Feelings of spring

The ice is almost completely gone here in Stockholm. For us, this period always means a few days of hard pounding against our bedroom walls. The ice hitting the hull has a tendency to propagate and sound very loud. But now it has calmed down!

Hectic job

I (Helena) work extremely a lot right now. I'm evaluating two different 3-year public health projects and both are due for final reports around the same time (last February and last March). There are morning video meetings and evening video meetings and spontaneous video meetings and emails are popping up. just all the time. Yesterday I didn't even go outside the door. It is fortunate that Peter shops, cooks and writes some blog posts such as Facts about Estonia - 30 things you (might) not know!

New glasses

You shouldn't run around in shopping centres and stores unnecessarily in these pandemic times, but buying new glasses was more of a "necessity" than an unnecessary one for me. Six months ago they cracked in the frame and a month ago the frame came loose. completely. The tape allowed the glasses to stay on reasonably well, if I sat still. On the other hand, I'm nearsighted, so I need the glasses most when I'm running around.

Finally, I got new glasses at Specsavers in London. Solna centre. It was both a pair of regular glasses and a pair of sharpened sunglasses (my first!). Good service and okay price for both glasses together. However, we have to say that it was a little difficult to avoid congestion in the centre of Solna. Lots of people there!

Best this week

Yesterday, a reader from northern Sweden called and wanted to tell us that he thinks our blog is good and that he will get a lot of use out of it when they travel in Europe. So, so fantastic feedback to hear that! Then you are really encouraged to continue making a good travel blog! What has been the best part of your week?

The week ahead

What happens now? In fact, we have a little excursion plan for Saturday and it will be so exciting. We will get back to you! What are your plans?
