Big deal in the camping industry: Scandinavia's two largest chains join forces

Sweden and Scandinavia's two largest camping chains - First Camp and Svenska Campingpärlor - are merging. After an extraordinary general meeting of Grönklittsgruppen AB (publ) voted in favour of a sale of the wholly owned subsidiary Svenska Campingpärlor AB, the United Camping group, which First Camp is part of, is now acquiring Svenska Campingpärlor. In total, the combined chain will have 55 destinations in Scandinavia and a turnover in a normal year of up to SEK 700 million.

KABE and Adria to organise caravan and motorhome fair

The major trade fair "Elmia Husvagn Husbil", which is usually held in September every year, was cancelled this year. Now the Kabe group has decided to rent the A-hall and organise their own fair. They will show 123 vehicles from Kabe, Adria, Sun Living and Affinity. Accessories from Kama Fritid will also be on display. The fair will be organised at Elmia in Jönköping 4-12 September, and tickets are available via Tickster.

Gröna Lund and Heineken launch unique club concept at nighttime carnival

For six evenings in August and September, people will for the first time be able to experience Gröna Lund at night as they have never seen the funfair before. Heineken and Gröna Lund are launching the concept of NIGHT RIDER, where Gröna Lund will be transformed into Sweden's most unique clubbing environment with an extended catering licence in the park and an age limit of 23 years. Rides, games and bars are loaded with extra sound, light and music to make the night vibrate.

Gradually and carefully as Liseberg lets in more guests

Seats for Liseberg in July have been fully booked for a long time, but now more people will be able to visit the amusement park after the FHM and the government introduced relief from 15 July. There is a cautious increase, about 950 places per day, which means an increase of almost 12 per cent compared to the last few weeks. This is a far cry from the number of visitors on a normal summer day in a normal year, which is usually around 25-30 000.

Sembo continues its large-scale investment with ready-made round trips - now by train

Interest among Swedes in being able to book more climate-smart alternatives has led Sembo to step up its investment in ready-made round trips. This time it is a new concept that makes it possible to book trains and hotels in combination. To make it easier for travellers, they can book their entire trip in one place at the touch of a button. The option will initially be launched on 11 selected tours in Sweden, Denmark and throughout Europe.

reflection of the week

The biggest camping chains (or the biggest camping chain, perhaps?) are getting bigger and bigger. But where will it end, one wonders? Isn't it nice and good if there are several different players on the market?
