Lovely trip in Germany
We have to say that we are having a really great trip in Germany! We just visited the marvellous city of St. Gallen. Bremenand our report on the city will come tomorrow.
We had nothing booked in Bremen, but on the press trip in Hamburg we met Dudu, who is originally from China but has lived in Bremen for many years. He usually (when there is no pandemic) guides Chinese tourists in Germany and the rest of Europe.
Now he generously offered to guide us around his home town. Fantastic! In addition, we were invited for coffee in his villa, where we also got to meet his lovely wife. All these nice and interesting meetings, isn't that one of the best things about travelling?
We will show much more about Bremen tomorrow. In the meantime, we can show the nice birdhouses at the "Reisemobilstellplatz am Kuhhirten" caravan park in Bremen. I would like to have one of those caravan birdhouses!
How could you forget ...!
We need to tell people that we screw up sometimes. I have written so many guides on what to consider when travelling in Europe with a motorhome, both for the freedomtravel.se and for external sites. I know that extremely that you should have an environmental sticker in your window when travelling in German cities, and that you should order it from DEKRA before departure. But did we remember? No, we didn't!
We can at least comfort those who are as forgetful as we are that the error can be fixed on the spot. The environmental sticker (called environmental label in German) can be purchased at various locations in Germany, including TÜV NORD stations. Now we also have a sticker in our window. Happy Friday!
A lot of work!
Do you think we are travelling slowly? Well, we are a bit behind in reporting, but we will catch up eventually. Right now we're just standing still and working.
We will publish a physical magazine again this summer (here you can see last summer's magazine) and it's a lot of work now that the deadline is approaching. So we sit all day writing, emailing and phoning... And sometimes Peter takes a break to do something else useful, like fixing our cushions!
Best this week
The best thing about this week is that we have continued to have fantastic experiences in Germany! We have experienced Bremen, but also Hanover and then rolled towards Celle. It's also great that we've had real summer heat! What has been the best part of your week?
The week ahead
What about the week ahead? Yes, we will continue to discover Celle and then further destinations on the German holiday route "Korsvirkesvägen" are next. We are really looking forward to that!

What many wonderful destinations you have to look forward to before you go home again. We have just come home and barely cleared out the motorhome but now we are heading out to beautiful Kungshamn and socialising with good friends this weekend.
It's fun to meet people while travelling. We had a wonderful meeting with our "German South African friends" last weekend. Such things give another golden edge to travelling.
