Train travellers take the lead in queuing for festivals

Festival-goers who take the train go ahead of the queue and get into two of this summer's festivals: Way out West and Big Slap. Both festivals want to offer sustainable travel and are therefore collaborating with SJ. Those who take the train to Way Out West in Gothenburg receive a Green Ticket wristband, which allows you to avoid the queue and receive various benefits and discounts. A similar concept applied to Big Slap in Malmö where a train ticket provided faster access to the festival.

Decreased sales of caravans and motor homes

Sales of caravans and motorhomes are declining, according to the Swedish Caravan Industry Association. However, the association points out that last year's sales were significantly boosted by the pandemic and restrictions on holidaying at home. In July 2022, 371 caravans and 387 motorhomes were registered, compared to 377 and 662 respectively in July last year. Looking at the whole year so far, compared to the same period in 2021, caravan registrations have decreased by 19.8 per cent and motorhome registrations by 33.9 per cent.

The 2023 polar caravan focuses on design

With the 2022 model year, the exterior design of all Polar caravans was changed. To take the attitude one step further, Polar has developed new 16-inch rims for 2023, with the Customised series getting matte black rims. The lighting has also been overhauled. In response to increased demand for smaller trailers with shower facilities, the company is now releasing the Polar 620 BSA, a single-axle trailer with a rear bathroom, Polar's popular corner kitchen and two single beds.

Over 1 million travellers on ForSea in July

After two difficult years of the pandemic, ForSea, which operates Helsingborg - Helsingör, back to levels similar to the normal year 2019. ForSea has noticed an increase in the number of shore excursion travellers in particular, which indicates that the short trips, often day trips, account for the large increase. During one day in July, a record number of 28,228 shore excursion passengers travelled, which has not been measured since a July day in 1996.. Travellers not only indulge in travel but also take advantage of Forsea's on-board restaurant/café and shopping facilities.

All time high for the High Coast

Tourism in High coast seems to be heading for a record in the number of guest nights after the month of June has been summarised. "June is an all-time high month in terms of the number of guest nights, a full 34 per cent up on June 2021," says Mia Karlsson, CEO of Höga Kusten's destination development. Höga Kusten concludes that nature continues to attract, despite the fact that Swedes are now allowed to travel freely around the world after the pandemic restrictions were released.

Reflection of the week

Great that so many people took the ferry between Helsingborg and Helsingör in July! We thought about doing that trip when we passed Helsingborg in the spring, but thought we had a little too little time. This is a trip we would love to do on occasion! Have you perhaps travelled Helsingborg - Helsingör?
