Tallink Silja's Christmas table highlights dishes from four national cuisines

The Christmas table on board Tallink Silja is in full swing! This year, guests are welcomed with a variety of classic favourites from Estonian, Finnish, Swedish and Eastern European cuisine. The sumptuous Christmas table contains over 140 delicious options for all taste buds - and almost 40 per cent of them are also suitable for vegans. The Christmas table served in the Grande Buffet restaurant is available on board the Baltic Queen until 31 December and on the Silja Serenade, Silja Symphony and Baltic Princess until 26 December.

Christmas atmosphere on Stena Line and "Christmas cosiness" in Jutland

Every year, Christmas-loving Swedes travel with Stena Line from Halmstad to Grenå to experience Danish 'Christmas hygge'. The Christmas spirit already starts on board Stena Line, where passengers can have breakfast or lunch and shop for this year's Christmas presents. Christmas cosiness in Jutland:

  • The Old Town Outdoor Museum in Aarhus tells you about Danish Christmas traditions. The market is open every day throughout December.
  • Tivoli Friheden in Aarhus is open every day in December, with a 40-metre high Christmas tree and lots of rides.
  • Ree Park Safari Zoo is located between Århus and Grenå. Here the Black Beauty steam train chugs along, and children get to meet Santa Claus and wild animals.

Viking Line has best service on the Baltic Sea, says survey

Service Score examines customer satisfaction among Swedish companies, authorities and organisations. The first measurement after the pandemic years 2020 and 2021 shows that Viking Line continues to be top class, and is named for the seventh time as the shipping company that provides the best service on the Baltic Sea.

Börje Salming gets his own ice statue at Icehotel

Börje Salming is honoured by the Icehotel with a statue made entirely of ice. During a ceremony yesterday it was unveiled to the public in Jukkasjärvi. This in the presence of his family and in consultation with Börje Salming's ALS foundation. In connection with this, Börje Salming's street was also inaugurated in the presence of municipal councillor Gunnar Selberg. The statue was created by artist Tjåsa Gusfors, who is one of Icehotel's most trusted and experienced artists.

Landvetter welcomes the world's most sustainable fuel-powered commercial airline.

Swedavia is working to promote the transition to biofuels, with the goal that five per cent of all fuel refuelled at Swedish airports will be fossil-free by 2025. The first airline to be refuelled with 50 per cent SAF (sustainable aviation fuel) is now being launched. BRA flies twice a week between Göteborg Landvetter Airport and the French Aéroport Lyon-Saint Exupéry using renewable SAF fuel. The new route will be the most sustainable fuel-powered commercial airline in the world.

Öland has Sweden's most satisfied visitors

For the fifth year in a row, the Swedish Network of Destination Management Organisations (SNDMO) has conducted the "Travel in Sweden" survey among 7,345 Swedes. The survey measures brand awareness, attitudes and satisfaction. The answers are converted into an NPS value that measures the propensity to recommend an experience. Öland landed on 59, which can be compared to the average of 12. Öland according to the study, has the best atmosphere, the nicest treatment and is the destination most people want to return to.

Apollo back with new destinations from Norrköping Airport

Next summer it will be possible for all östgötes to travel with Apollo to the Greek pearls Parga, Lefkas and Sivota as well as Crete directly from Norrköping Airport. The first three destinations are reached through Preveza Airport, where you fly with Novair. To reach stunning Crete you fly with Corendon.

Croatia prepares for increased tourism in 2023

Greater interest from tour operators and airlines means that Croatia is looking forward to the 2023 tourist season with confidence. The potential is also increasing thanks to the country's entry into Schengen and the introduction of the euro as of January. SAS will operate direct flights from Stockholm, Gothenburg, Copenhagen and Oslo to Split, Pula and Dubrovnik. Other airlines focusing on Croatia this summer include Norwegian, Ryanair and BRA.
