Unique glass domes - this year's novelty at Borås campsite

Borås Camping is one of Sweden's largest city campsites with over 300 camping pitches, 52 cabins and hostels. After a summer with the highest occupancy rate in many years, they are now investing heavily with a unique accommodation! Two glass domes - the only ones of their kind in Sweden - will soon open for overnight stays. Here guests can experience a summer night under the stars, cosy up in the autumn rush or watch the first snow fall. The glass domes, which are furnished with a double bed, table, fridge and atmospheric lighting, can be used all year round.

Dometic introduces inflatable, compact roof tent for cars

To follow the popular trend of spending the weekend in the great outdoors with a car, Dometic has created a lightweight and practical rooftop tent that utilises a single-point inflation system. The Dometic TRT 140 AIR is compact enough to be installed on the roof of a standard car, transforming an ordinary car into a campervan in an instant.

Tallink Grupp launches Menu Nordic

Tallink Grupp has launched a new five-course menu, Menu Nordic, for all foodies travelling between Stockholm and Helsinki and Stockholm and Tallinn. The menu, created by chef Sami Leino, highlights traditional Nordic autumn flavours with a touch of Asia and is available until 2 April 2023. The menu is available on Silja Serenade and Silja Symphony in restaurant Bon Vivant and on Baltic Queen in restaurant Gourmet. The menu is also available in a vegan version.

Tourism recovers from the coronavirus pandemic

Tourism in Sweden has started to recover from the coronavirus pandemic. In 2021, tourism consumption increased by 16 per cent compared with the previous year. Total tourism consumption in Sweden amounted to SEK 249 billion in 2021, the largest part of which, SEK 192 billion, was from tourism by Swedes in Sweden. In 2021, tourism's share of GDP amounted to 1.9 per cent, which can be compared with 2.4-2.7 per cent in the years 2015 to 2019. This is according to a new report from the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.

Defender launched in limited edition

Land Rover's 75th anniversary is being marked with an exclusive anniversary edition in the form of the new Defender 75th Limited Edition. The vehicle is available in body lengths of 90/110 and introduces the colour Grasmere Green. The car is equipped with the latest technology including 3D surround camera, LED headlights with Matrix technology and configurable terrain response.

Reflection of the week

Those glass domes at Borås camping look a little delicious and special, we think. Fun with different accommodation! When it comes to travel fairs, there is no "proper" one in Sweden for the public and the Seniormässan probably comes closest. Not so strange perhaps that travel agencies are joining forces and organising smaller events of their own.
