Pool hemma - semesterkänsla utan att resa

Do you have a pool at home? We don't, but we've visited friends who have a pool in their garden, and it immediately feels like you're on holiday abroad. So who knows, maybe sometime in the future? This is what we would love about having a pool at home.

Getting that holiday feeling without travelling

One reason for having pole would be to get that holiday feeling without travelling. But what, we wouldn't be travelling? Well, we would want to do that anyway. Travelling is much more than enjoying relaxation - it's also about discovering new places and meeting people from other cultures. Of course, we would want to do that anyway!

But, the travelling that is about relaxing in the sun with a drink in hand, we would love to be able to move it home to the garden (hmm, in our case the deck of the houseboat maybe). How wonderful to have that opportunity right outside the door!

Enjoying the Swedish summer

The Swedish summer is fantastic. Sure, there are dull rainy days when you want to stay indoors, but often you can enjoy a long period of summer that is really, really lovely. The Swedish summer is beautiful, full of flowers, and many times the time of year is just right warm and cosy. With a pool at home, you could of course enjoy the lovely Swedish summer days even more.

Being able to invite friends over for a pool party

In the summer, it's nice to invite friends home for some mingling with food and wine, and if the weather is nice, you want to spend time outdoors in the sun. With a pool at home, you could invite people to hang out by the pool, perhaps with some canapés and colourful drinks. How luxurious would that feel?

This is what our dream pool would look like

If we were to have a pool on the deck of the boat, it would probably be a cosy little hot tub. But if we can dream freely, we can imagine a pool in a larger garden. Then we would want a nice pool with a small staircase and lighting.

The shape wouldn't matter too much, but a round or octagonal pool would look cosy. We would also like the possibility to heat the water (so you can extend the pool season well into the autumn) and a nice pool roof (a simple cover would probably also work well, but if you can dream freely, you can ...).
