Nice days in Johannesburg

Being welcomed by local friends when you land in a new country, can it get any better? We started our stay in South Africa with our fantastic friends Henri and Michelle. There was everything from sightseeing to park walks and parties. Then we started preparing for our joint trip to the Kruger Park.

Travelling to the Kruger Park

Henri and Michelle have a really cool off-road caravan, and a car with a roof top tent, and with these we planned our trip to the Kruger Park. Together, we packed clothes, food and other things we might need for a week of adventure ...

Camping in the Kruger Park

It is relatively many hours of driving from Johannesburg to the Kruger Park, and therefore we left early in the morning. On the way we stopped at no less than two fantastic sights, which we will tell you more about as soon as we can.

The Kruger Park is truly amazing! It's hard to explain, but this enormous natural area is home to some incredible and fascinating wildlife. The best experience is if you can spend a little longer in the park, and there are many different accommodation options.

How we live? At a camp in our friends' super-cool caravan. According to us, it doesn't get any better than this! In the evenings we sit by the fire, barbecue and talk. At night we hear lions roaring and baboons swinging in the trees. During the day we travel in the park and look for wild animals...

We have spent several days in the park already and we have enjoyed the fantastic experiences. Some even wonder how it is possible to be so lucky, and see so many animals in such a short time. It takes some time before we can process the photos and write, but reports will come soon!

Best this week

Best this week? For us, there's no question! It's all the amazing experiences in the Kruger Park in South Africa.

How has your week been? What can you highlight as positive, big or small?

Exotic fruit is plentiful in South Africa!

The week ahead

In the coming week, we will continue travelling in the Kruger Park, before it is time for us to head back to Johannesburg, and then to the coast. Here at FREEDOMtravel, you can count on some pre-set reports (including the continuation of Anna Nilsson Spets story of Jordan), but also stories from our trip in South Africa!
