Where Swedes are travelling this Easter

More than one in ten Swedes say they plan to travel abroad during Easter this year, according to travel agency Tickets' latest Sifo survey. The early Easter has meant that many Swedes are choosing to travel further south than usual to ensure summer warmth on their Easter holiday. This has made the Canary Islands this year's big winner. Travel to Gran Canaria increases by over 60% at Easter, while travel to the neighbouring island of Tenerife increases by 24%. Most popular destinations at Easter:

Stena Line offers Swedish Easter bunnies a free trip to Denmark

After a period of lower krona exchange rates and high interest rates, Stena Line reports a sharp increase of 25 per cent in Swedish bookings to the UK. Denmark during the first quarter of the year. Finncanopus celebrates one month and offers Easter programme

Finnlines has welcomed two newly built Superstar class vessels to its fleet, Finnsirius in September 2023 and Finncanopus in February this year. The Superstar vessels have replaced two smaller vessels and offer an upgraded service on the route between Sweden and Finland via the Baltic Sea. Åland. Borås Zoo cuts prices by up to 40 per cent

At Easter, Borås Zoo opens for the season. In customer surveys, more and more visitors say that finances are the biggest obstacle to coming as often as they wish. Therefore, the zoo introduces more, cheaper ticket categories and makes substantial price reductions of up to 40 per cent outside the high season. In mid-summer, the price will remain unchanged. Price reductions for the 2024 Easter holidays:

  • Children: 40-70 kr lower ticket price
  • Adults: 40-90 kr lower ticket price
  • Seniors: 90-140 kr lower ticket price

Kristina from Duvemåla will be performed at Dalhalla this summer. 

Kristina from Duvemåla is the greatest Swedish musical of all time, with songs such as 'Du måste finnas' and 'Guldet blev till sand'. The story is based on Wilhelm Moberg's emigration epic, with music by Benny Andersson and lyrics by Björn Ulvaeus. Reflection of the week

Spain is as usual at the top when it comes to foreign travel destinations for Swedes - no change there! Otherwise, this week there was a lot of news with a focus on Swedish and Nordic travel destinations. Spring is coming and it is wonderful to travel and make excursions in the local area!
