Rapport från Stockholm Husvagn Husbil 2024 - så var nya mässan

"Stockholm Husvagn Husbil 2024" has just taken place and it was the very first time for this new fair. So, how was the fair? We were there and offer a short report. Maybe you were there too?

Stockholm Husvagn Husbil - a new trade fair

"Stockholm Caravan Motorhome" is therefore a brand new fairwhich was held for the first time on 14-17 March 2024 at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö, in parallel with the boat show "Allt för sjön". In total, the fair attracted 27 113 visitors.

There used to be a motorhome fair at Kistamässan in Stockholm, but this has now been cancelled and has been replaced by this new fair.

Everything for the sea

"Allt för sjön" is a classic boat show that is usually organised at Stockholmsmässan every year and takes place over two weekends. Organising the fairs in parallel is not a bad idea - we've been talking for years about merging leisure fairs in this way - as it will provide even more interesting content for visitors, and both fairs can benefit from new target groups.

The 'Everything for the Sea' exhibition features a wide range of leisure boats, including sailboats and motorboats, as well as accessories and other items.

Motorhomes and caravans at "Stockholm Husvagn Husbil 2024".

The fair brought together over 50 different brands of caravans and motorhomes, campers, tent trailers, roof top tents and accessories. Some of the motorhome and caravan brands on display included Adria, Carthago, Challenger, Easy Campers, Eriba Touring, Eura Mobil, Hobby, Hymer, Kabe, Knaus, McLouis and Pilote.

One trend seemed to be to display the motorhomes alongside skis, canoes and surfboards, to give a sense of the active lifestyle that can be enjoyed with a camping vehicle.

Nordic Special Motorhomes focuses on customising motorhomes that can be used as mobile offices, mobile police stations and the like. At the fair, visitors could take a look at a motorhome that will be used as a reception centre for people with drug problems.

Of course, caravans of various kinds were also displayed at the fair.

Accessories, motorhome magazines and lectures

When it comes to accessories and other "around" stuff, it was perhaps a little more thin, but there were some exhibitors with things like tyres, chassis accessories and interior details. Other exhibitors included CampingSverige, Allt om husbilen, Husbilsskolan and Wifi.se.

There was also a smaller stage with a small seminar programme. Here Husbilsskolan, Husbilsresor & Äventyr and we at FREEDOMtravel, who talked about travelling "Bottniska Viken Runt". At CampingSverige we received a nice little booklet from "Campingköket", with 12 recipes suitable for cooking in a camping environment. We're already inspired to cook at least two of them, so we might come back to that!

What is the future of Stockholm Caravan Motorhome?

What is the future of Stockholm Husvagn Husbil? Of course, we don't know for sure, but the fair will tentatively return in parallel with Allt för Sjön in the spring of 2025.

One thing that speaks in favour of this show is the combination of boat plus motorhome. Several dealers talked about the benefit of a new target group - boaters coming to look at motorhomes. Yet It would be more fun if the fair could be combined with, for example, outdoor activities, fishing and travel destinations, making it a large leisure fair. It would also be good to have a wider range of accessories and lectures.

Of course, it is true that Stockholmsmässan will be demolished in the future to make room for housing. On the other hand, it will take a few years until then.
