Mountain biking in Zermatt, Switzerland! We are not exaggerating when we say that this is one of the most amazing nature experiences we have ever had. Today we can tell you about breathtaking views and making raclette cheese. We are currently in the Swiss Alps, more specifically in Nendaz in Valais. Yesterday we went on a trip even higher up in the Alps. Despite the bad weather, we got to experience unbelievable views. We also got to see how the famous raclette cheese and a number of other Swiss cheeses are made.
Read moreToday you will be travelling by train through Switzerland. On Monday morning we started the journey that would take us from Stockholm to Nendaz in southern Switzerland. It was a journey that involved just over two hours by plane, just under three hours by train and then half an hour by bus. Despite a fairly long journey, it didn't feel slow at all. After a few days we want to start moving again, because we had an unplanned stop in Dubrovnik, the stay in Greece was a little shorter than we thought. It was still quite ok, Greece is still there. Left early from Thessaloniki to get as far up as possible. Had decided on a "driving day" so we left at 06.15. It was quiet on the roads and we quickly drove up to the border with Macedonia. The roads in Greece are very nice. It is probably our "road favourite" so far. 🙂
Read moreFinally Friday and time for "Happy Friday"! The most positive aspect of our week has been getting through the first week of training. These new good intentions may be jeopardised by next week's trip to Switzerland, but we will do our best to stick to our new habits...!
Read moreWhen we recently wrote about Swedish holiday habits, we found that many Swedes eat and drink more on holiday than in everyday life. Unfortunately, we have to say that we recognise this. We have probably both lost our fitness and gained weight after our holidays.
Read moreIn the summer of 2014, we lifted the entire houseboat on land and did a complete renovation that included new construction of the entire upper floor, new panelling everywhere and a new balcony floor on the deck. But of course a houseboat requires maintenance! We've decided that it's best to do a little each year, and this year it was time to paint the deck and lining.
Read moreSometimes you don't have to go so far to experience the world. Last Sunday we went to Veddesta in Järfälla outside Stockholm to look at a sofa bed and a chest of drawers. At the same time, we took the opportunity to visit the grocery store Matvärlden, which is also located here. We bought some small things, but above all we walked around and looked. Wow! It was like travelling around the world!
