The source "Syri i Kalter", Blue eye, is located in southern Albania, not far from the city of Saranda. We drove here directly after our visit to Butrint, and must say that the road to the mountains is absolutely beautiful. It feels like nature is doing well, because it is intensely green and right next to it the clear mountain water flows in a wide channel. But this is of course nothing compared to what we will soon see and experience.

Butrint is an archaeological site in southern Albania. The city was inhabited for about 3000 years, and the oldest finds date back to 800 BC. There are ruins from completely different eras, and walking around the site you can travel back in your imagination to many different times in history.

Last night we took the Italy - Greece ferry, from Brindisi in southern Italy to Igoumenitsa in northern Greece. The original plan was to follow the Italian east coast northwards and then enter Croatia from the north. But now we've changed our minds! That's the great thing about motorhomes - you can change plans and directions whenever you want. So now we have made it to Igoumenitsa in Greece.

The Cathedral of Otranto in southern Italy is sometimes referred to as the Church of the Skulls of Otranto, and there's a very good reason for that.
