Updated: October 2026 | Rörstrand Castle is located in the center of Stockholm, but is still easy to miss. Next to the Filadelfia Church at Sankt Eriksplan, there is a building with a history that includes both royalty and porcelain manufacturing. We visited the castle on a guided tour in 2018 and still often pass the traces of the factory on our walks from Pampas marina.

We lived here together in 2018, when my mother was awarded an honorary doctorate. Peter has since returned with his brother Micke for client meetings – and a shrimp sandwich high above Gothenburg is usually part of the stay!

The National Museum in Stockholm opens this Saturday, 13 October 2018, after five years of renovation. The new Nationalmuseum has opened up 300 pre-built windows, regained its two light courts and made room for significantly more art than before. Peter has been on a press tour this week and we can give a little "sneak peek" before the opening this Saturday.

Here, both the pastries and the homely coffee rooms attract, where it feels a bit like stepping into someone's grandmother's house.
