Wine tasting of red wines

What amazing wines we had the chance to taste and drink yesterday! Among these wines were the most delicious wines we have ever had. The dinner was also very successful. We start by showing some pictures of the table setting (it was not easy to fit the glasses...) and tell you a bit about the wines.

Amarone Casa Dei Bepi 2004 (Italy)

We bought this bottle when we were in Italy with our motorhome in the summer of 2009. What a fantastic wine! A flavour explosion with lots of berry sweetness. The best wine Peter has ever had!

Malatinszky Cabernoir 2007 (Hungary)

We bought this wine in a wine shop in Budapest this January. Good flavour, but a bit dry in the aftertaste. In this fantastic company we thought it was the "worst" wine, if you can write that about such a fine wine.

Chateau Palmer Margaux 2003 (France)

A fantastic Bordeaux wine. Definitely one of the best wines we tried! A bit "lighter" than some of the other wines and very good with the second starter (goat salad).

Bayerskloof 2008 (South Africa)

A South African wine with 100 per cent pinotage grapes. A wine with a lot of character in the flavour, which went well with the main course (deer).

Finca Garbet 2004 (Spain)

This Spaniard was very good, mild and round in flavour, and also went well with the main course. However, we didn't think you get much more flavour for your money by going up in price on Spanish wines.
