Last Saturday it was time for a wedding in the archipelago, when Peter's niece Dessi finally got married to her husband Lasse. We were there as guests, but also as wedding photographers. Here is a small sample of the pictures and a few words about the wedding and the boat trip up to the big wedding party.

Before the wedding ceremony, Peter and I had the opportunity to go away with the bride and groom for wedding photography. We went first to a scenic area by a jetty and then to a small beach with rocks. There were both romantically beautiful photos and more playful pictures, as Dessi and Lasse are a spontaneous and lovely couple, who are close to fun and mischief. It is important to take pictures that are not only beautiful, but also personal.
We won't show all the photos here. Some pictures will be given to the bride and groom all to themselves. But you will (with Dessi's and Lasse's permission of course) get a look at some of them. Do you like our pictures and need help with wedding photography on occasion? We thought this was super fun, and would love to do it again!
Wedding and boat trip to the party
After the photo shoot, it was time for the wedding in Blidö Church. It was a nice and joyful ceremony, with singing, poetry reading and happy closing music that the bride and groom and the guests almost danced to. A boat was waiting outside the church and the bride and groom travelled by water to their property, where the big party would take place. Dessi and Lasse have built their own house on Dessi's parents' summer cottage plot and live here permanently.
Around 80 guests were waiting in the grounds to throw rice at the bride and groom, and then it was time for... the party of the century! It's unbelievable how you can organise such a big party in the middle of the archipelago and make all the details work: a beautifully decorated tent, a luxurious 4-course dinner, speeches and spex, games, quirky surprises, a choreographed waltz and an all-night party with a DJ. We'll show you photos from the party and tell you more tomorrow!

Two years ago I also had the honour of photographing a wedding couple, and spend the whole day with the bride on hair and make-up and made a photo book for them as a gift, was really proud of the book, my first, and the bride and groom were so happy.
A nice day all round.
Since I saw the entire wedding through the camera lens, I managed to avoid crying rivers (my nephew who got married)....

Assuming that Peter has taken most of the photos. Ever since I saw his photo of the wedding couple he took in Croatia (I think it was), I realise that he can really capture the right moments. If, contrary to expectations, it was you who held the camera here - so much praise!

BP, these particular photos are actually mine, but on the other hand, it was largely Peter who directed the bride and groom 😉 He took perhaps even better photos, but I didn't have time to look through them yesterday 😉 He also took nice photos of the bride and groom ON the boat (he went in the boat and I stood on land).
