Last Friday night it was finally time for The best of Armin Only in Amsterdam arena, the big anniversary concert with the world famous DJ Armin van Buuren. We charged with a champagne breakfast in the house we rented and then we took the train into the centre of Amsterdam to charge for the evening ...

We charge in white

We started Friday morning with an awesome champagne breakfast with extra everything, including pancakes, bacon and various Dutch specialities (more on that later). Then we switched to white!

There was no dress code at the concert, so dressing in white was entirely our own idea. However, it turned out to be a smart move! Firstly, I think we got extra excited, and secondly, it was easier not to lose each other among the 40,000 people at the concert...!

Finally, it was time! The Amsterdam arena is magnificent and when 40,000 excited people flooded in at the same time, the party mood was immediate. Armin played songs from his 20 years as a world-famous DJ, and many of the artists who have sung on his songs were in the arena performing live.

In addition, we were treated to a real show with dancers, drummers, trumpeters, acrobats, lasers, fires and a huge canvas of images that took visitors to everything from big cities to outer space.

A really good evening

We had VIP tickets, which was a bit nice because you have access to your own areas with toilets and bars, where there is less of a queue. The visitors came from 97 (!) different countries and we estimate that most of them were between 20 and 60 years old, with an emphasis on 30-40 years old. A bit interesting because a similar event with trance music in Sweden would probably draw a much younger audience, or what do you think? A really good evening and a cool concert in Amsterdam arena!
