Last Friday evening it was time for one of the biggest events of the year for travel bloggers: the Nordic Travel Blog event. The event, organised by Travel & Lifestyle Nordic, gathered around 100 Nordic travel bloggers at the Sheraton hotel in Stockholm. It was a long and pleasant evening with food and wine, mingling, lectures, crazy (to say the least!) antics and an award ceremony with fantastic prizes.

Drinks at the Scandic rooftop bar
Even before the event started, some of us travel bloggers met at Scandic Continental's rooftop bar on Vasagatan. A nice and relaxed start for the challenge that soon awaited ...!
Crazy team competition
When we arrived at the Sheraton hotel at 17:00, we were immediately divided into teams, each with a team captain. Each team had one hour to solve a series of tasks in the city centre. It was everything from singing "Macarena" at the T-Centre to dancing Small Frogs around a lamp post. Not entirely painless tasks, then!
Everything had to be filmed and posted on Instagram as proof. Our team gave it their all and in order to reach the finish line in time, one of the participants even had to take off their high heels and run barefoot through the city...!
Theme Switzerland
The Swiss Tourist Office in Sweden was the main sponsor of the event and the Switzerland was therefore a common theme throughout the evening. We got to see pictures and films from the country, and it must be said that nature looks almost unrealistically fantastic. We were also offered Swiss wine and Swiss cheese - two very pleasant acquaintances.
Lectures - including Peter
In addition to learning more about Switzerland, we listened to lectures about Youtube and how influencers can work with companies. The very last speaker of the evening was ... Peter! He talked about new digital technology and reflected on what it means for us influencers.
Suspecting that the audience would be a bit 'lecture-weary' at 11pm, he made it all rather light-hearted, shocking them by showing up in ... a wig!
Last but not least - award ceremony
Finally, it was time for the highlight of the evening: the awards ceremony. I probably don't remember all the categories, but some of the winners were Liniz Travel (best Instagram photo of the night), The Northern Lights (Hero of Instagram), Traveler's Edition (King of Youtube SEO), Life from the bright side (Master of Facebook video), Northbound Journeys (Queen of video footage), Veera Bianca (Instagram) and Earth Wanderess (Explorer of the world).
Then it was time to announce which team had won the crazy team competition. It turned out that the jury couldn't decide one winning team, but chose two. Which two teams won? Mine (Helena's) and Peter's! We didn't realise we were so good at singing the Macarena and dancing the Little Frogs in the middle of town, haha.
What we won? It's actually completely Unbelievable. The Swiss tourist office has promised to fly everyone from the two winning business class teams down to Switzerland and offer a whole range of great activities. We are really looking forward to this!
