Experiences in north-west Skåne

We have experienced so great deal of fun in north-west Skåne. We must say that we are pleasantly surprised. There are so many beautiful and interesting things to see! We have experienced magnificent nature, tasted exciting Swedish wines and visited museums that really engaged us.

It is impossible to write about everything at the same pace as we are travelling, so we have chosen to save some stories for later. The photos of me below (the picture by the military aircraft is a montage in a museum!) are from some of the experiences that we haven't had time to write about yet, which will come later.

From the Bjäre Peninsula ...

Just recently we visited Bjäre Peninsula in north-eastern Skåne. Despite some mixed experiences (we did not feel super welcome with a motorhome in Båstad), we had many great experiences here. There have been two reports so far:

... to Halland

We have now moved on to Halland. We have first visited Halmstad. My (Helena's) family comes from here, so this is more or less home for me. Here we have both looked past my mother's summer cottage and visited several places where I have never been before. Very interesting! We have also encountered a troll ...

Things that happen on the road: Cycling problems and fallen trees

If you think that everything runs smoothly and painlessly all the time during our trips, you are wrong. Peter's electric bike (trike) has been having problems for some time and we have already ordered a spare part from China. Unfortunately, this did not arrive before we left and we have continued cycling on hope and the bike's last will to live.

In Halmstad, however, it finally stopped, a good distance from the parking area. It was not even possible to pedal or lead the bike! Great then that we could each rent an electric scooter! It was just to lock the bikes, take the electric scooters to the car park, and pick up the bikes with the camper van ...

Yesterday we had a tree fall across the road just moments before we started driving. Peter and another driver cleared the tree so we could continue driving. Luckily no one got hurt! Happy Friday!

FREEDOMtravel featured in Svea magazine

Another thing we forgot to mention is that we recently appeared on a full page in Svea Husbilar's magazine, which is sent out to motorhome owners in Sweden. Great! Have you seen the magazine? If not, you can read it at this link.

Best this week

The best part of this week, of course, is that we're still on the road with the campervan! Travelling and writing is the best thing we know, whether in Sweden or abroad. And what about you, what has been the best part of your week?

The cow in the picture has nothing to do with the text ... except that we met it in Halland!

The week ahead

During the coming week, we will report on our continued journey in Halland. Have you noticed that sometimes sponsored posts come in between? Yes, be happy about that, because otherwise we would not be able to afford to continue writing! Right now, we have also invested some of this income in further improvements to the blog, as you may notice if you look around the home page!
