The vast majority of people in Skåne are in favour of tourism

The majority of people in Skåne feel that tourism contributes to making Skåne to a better place to live, but many people welcome measures that regulate the number of visitors to particularly popular nature areas. This is shown by the citizen survey initiated by Tourism in Skåne and carried out in Region Skåne's "Skåne Panel".

The main benefits, according to the people of Skåne, are revenue for business, employment, rural development, increased supply of products and services, and opportunities for cultures to meet. Challenges include heavy visitor pressure in some places, congestion and littering.

On 12 December, the 2022 train timetable begins for the whole of Sweden. For Dalarna, this means an increase in the number of departures between Borlänge and Mora, Rättvik and Leksand. Traffic to Leksand and Rättvik will increase by 75 per cent. In addition, express train services will be restarted with a daily service between Falun and Stockholm.

Reflection of the week

Interesting to see the survey on Skåne's attitude to tourism! "Tourism is often good in many ways, but there are also risks of negative consequences. During the year, we have heard about some places, including in Skåne, where it is being for many tourists at the same time. Good if you can find ways to distribute the tourists - there are so many different beautiful places!
