Record travel sales after restrictions are lifted

The government's announcement to lift coronavirus restrictions led to a rush for sun and beach holidays, according to statistics from travel agency Ticket. Customers are prioritising simple and uncomplicated trips more than ever before, with most choosing to travel within the EU, where a vaccine certificate is usually sufficient. Top 5 booked destinations right now:

  1. Gran Canaria, Spain
  2. Majorca, Spain
  3. Rhodes, Greece
  4. Larnaca, Cyprus
  5. Tenerife, Spain

Ticket becomes a reseller for Solresor

The Solresor brand is now entering all of Ticket's 49 stores in the country. The collaboration increases Solresor's presence in several locations and gives Ticket a broader portfolio of trips to destinations such as the Azores, the Canary Islands and Madeira. A total of 60 destinations in 15 countries are offered. Solresor was founded in 1989, and since 2020 has been part of the Rolfs Travel Group, which also includes Rolfs Flyg & Buss. From now on, Solresor's new inspirational magazine "Solar Energy 2022" is available at all Ticket stores.

SAS starts flying to Toronto from Stockholm

SAS is expanding its network in North America and opening direct routes to Toronto from Copenhagen and Stockholm starting in June 2022. Each week, SAS will offer three flights from Copenhagen and four from Stockholm with brand new A321LR aircraft.

First Camp enters Norway

Scandinavia's largest camping chain, First Camp, is making its first acquisition in Norway. The chain already has 58 destinations in Sweden and Denmark and now acquires Norsjø Ferieland in Telemark in south-west Norway. First Camp has the ambition to grow strongly in Norway in the coming years and aims to have about ten destinations in Norway within three to five years. Norsjø Ferieland, which is now being acquired, has 260 camping pitches, 32 cabins, a restaurant and Norway's only zipline course for wakeboarding, where the World Cup has also been held.

Acamp raises SEK 25 million in new
investment round

Acamp brings in two new investors: Spintop Ventures and LRF Ventures, and plans to expand the company across the Nordic region. Acamp makes it easy for campers to find and book places to camp. The two founders have built a platform where private landowners and entrepreneurs can not only rent out unused land to campers, but also sell goods and experiences directly to campers. This spring, Acamp will also expand the Clean Camping initiative in collaboration with Keep Sweden Tidy.

SCR Swedish Camping and German ADAC promote Sweden to Germans

SCR Svensk Camping and ADAC Camping are launching a collaboration to attract more German tourists to Sweden. The collaboration means that the two organisations will jointly promote Sweden as a travel destination on the German market and that Swedish campsites will gain access to a market of millions via a new booking platform. Through the cooperation, Swedish campsites can now be booked on ADAC's website Pincamp.de, which is Germany's leading marketplace for camping accommodation.

Numerous industry awards for Flair and iSmove

For the seventh time in a row, readers of Promobil magazine have voted Flair the most popular liner model of the year. In 2021, the iSmove was also honoured no less than seven times by international juries. A real highlight was when iSmove received the German Design Award, one of the world's most prestigious design awards. Niesmann+Bischoff states this in a press release.

Both the travel and camping industries seem to be getting more and more optimistic about the future. This is reflected in the large increase in press releases and their hopeful tone.
