The Swedish Association of Vehicle Workshops joins the Motorhome Campaign.

Sveriges Fordonsverkstäders Förening (SFVF), the largest motor industry organisation in the Nordic region with over 3000 member companies, is joining the "Motorhome Campaign". Husbilskampen is an opinion campaign for a fairer taxation of motorhomes, taking into account the special nature of the motorhome as a vehicle, and is run by the Swedish Caravan Industry Association (HRF) in cooperation with interest organisations in the field of mobile accommodation. At the same time, HRF is intensifying its lobbying efforts, through an extended political dialogue until the parliamentary elections.

International tourists welcomed to Eskilstuna

Destination Eskilstuna has just launched a website in English with the aim of reaching out to international tourists. In 2019, visiteskilstuna.se was launched and now an English version has been added. The new website is not a copy of the Swedish version - new content has been developed to meet the needs of the international traveller. The website can be found at: visiteskilstuna.se/eng.

SJ hands over Öresund train services ahead of schedule

SJ and Öresundståg have agreed to discontinue the cooperation in connection with the timetable change in 2022/23. It has previously emerged that SJ and the client Öresundståg have not agreed on the division of responsibilities regarding the maintenance of the vehicle fleet. After negotiations, the parties have now agreed to discontinue the cooperation in December 2022. Operation and maintenance will be transferred to another operator from 10 December.

BRA launches summer service to Sälen from Ängelholm Helsingborg Airport

Before the summer, BRA is launching another summer route, this time to Sälen from Ängelholm Helsingborg Airport. The route will be operated on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the period 6 July to 26 July. The direct route to Sälen is added to the direct route to Visby, which will also be flown from Ängelholm. Helsingborg Airport this summer, and is part of the historic investment that BRA is making in its summer programme, including seven direct routes to and from Visby.

Record number of visitors to SkiStar at Easter with over 70,000 visitors on Good Friday.

Interest in spending Easter in the mountains has been greater than ever this year. Both SkiStar Åre and Vemdalen reached record levels on Good Friday, with 18,000 and almost 12,000 skiing visitors respectively. Several ski resorts have now finished the season. At SkiStar Åre, preparations are in full swing for the Åre Sessions festival on 28 April - 1 May 2022.

Reflection of the week
